I sat up and looked around. Yup! It was morning alright. But was I awake? That was too much to think about for this early in the morning. Water, water. I needed a glass of water. Still not enough - more. "Freud would have a blast with that one," I thought out loud.
I fired up the boxen. Went downstairs to start getting the morning started - boil some water, empty the dishwasher, feed the cats, pour up some juice for everyone, take my pills.
HoooooEeeeee - I couldn't shake the cobwebs.
Time to check my E-Mail.

Wait a minute! This doesn't make any sense! That was in my dream?? I scrolled through the headers. There they were. All of them. "This can't be happening!" I said to noone in particular. "This is *someone else's* nightmare, not mine. I could never have conceived of something this bizarre and dark and evil."
"Bad news, Bud! - It's all yours! Oh - and by the way? It DOESN'T get any better than this!"
"Who said that?" It was quiet again.
I had noticed that over the past months, it seemed that all of my wildest nightmares had been coming true - right down to Cyndi Lauper's hair. It had even gotten to the point where I had become able to predict what was going to happen with a fairly high degree of accuracy. But this? This? Could this really be happening?
"Yup! And you better get used to it."
"Holy cow! Soooo now what happens?"
"Doesn't really make much difference. I suggest that you might want to think about trying to get 'Spaceman Spliff' out of there."
"You mean 'fish'?"
"Whatever."
"But, but ..."
"That's right! Two butts make a tukus."
"Don't I get my three wishes?"
"You can try, but I'd be careful what you wish for, it may come true. But that's not me, anyway. That's 'fairy-godmother' stuff."
"Then -- who are you?"
"Ever hear of an homunculus?"
"Yeah."
"Well, for the time being, let's just say that I'm yours, and you're mine. And we're going to be together for a loooong time!"
"Why?"
"Cuz I haven't got anything better to do right now."
"Does this mean that this stuff is going to keep happening?"
"Ohhhh, quite likely. But I really wouldn't worry about it if I were you. You see, there's really not much you can do about it - 'cept hang on for the ride."
"But, what about 'fish'? Is he for real or just a figment of my - your imagination?"
"AhHaHaHaHa!" There was that hideous laught I had heard - in my - dream? Was it a dream? Or had I somehow projected myself into another dimension?
Time to take a shower and try to figure this out!
