Self: It's time.

Me: 'Bout time. Where've you been?

Self: I've been vacationing with Xassie on the Greek islands.

Me: Well, I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Leaving me here all alone to deal with this mess.

Xassie: We did. And it was ex-crutiatingly maaaarvelous.

Me: You still here?

Xassie: Of course. I'll always be here from now on. Self and me have our arrangement, you know.

Self: But that's not the point. It's time.

Me: What do you mean, "It's time"; Time for what?

Self: It's time to go back.

Me: Back! I can't go back! There's no back to go back to. What do you mean, "Go back?"

Self: Who are you?

Me: I'm a warrior and a minstrel.

Self: What are you looking for?

Me: A cure for this virus that has crippled me and killed many of my brother and sister warriors.

Self: That's not what you would have said eight months ago. How would you have answered that question eight months ago? What *WAS* your answer then?

Me: Happiness!

Self: Yes. And?

Me: I can't remember when I've been happier in my life.

Self: Yes. And?

Me: Well? What do you want me to say?

Self: Where are you going?

Me: Is that what you want me to say?

Self: No! That's a follow-up question. Where are you going?
